Email marketing system structure
Mainly any Email marketing system consists of two parts:
- The sender: (SMTP service) this is the technical part. It allows you to send emails over the internet.
- The Management Application, where you can configure and manage your Email Lists, Marketing Campaigns, monitor and analyze results, manage your sending servers, and so on.
So we connect both together to get an Email Marketing System.
Now you have two choices:
1 – You can go with an Email Marketing Company where it provides both parts together in one platform like MailChimp, Aweber, Getresponse, or other companies.
2 – Or you can build your own Email Marketing System by Building or Subscribing to a Sending Service(SMTP) like AWS SES, Mailgun, Mandrill…
And Installing an Email Management Application Like Mailwizz, Mailster, Mamura, Interspire, Mautic, or other applications.
Then you connect both and have your own system.
Using your own System, have only one tiny drawback, which is building the system manually for the first time, which can take around 2-3 days to set up things correctly. But then you will be able to send a 10x amount of emails for lower costs.

- Access to a 2 VPS Machine with Ubuntu 18.04 installed on it. You can get a VPS From Contabo Web Service or any provider with port 25 Open, making sure the IPs can have a PTR recordset.
- If you already have a subscribed email sender service(like AWS SES) and want to build an email management application only in your own server:
- Access to a VPS Machine with Ubuntu 18.04 installed on it. You can get a VPS From Contabo Web Service or any provider, making sure the IPs can have a PTR recordset.
- Email connection details provided by email sender service.
- If you plan to go with a subscribe email sender service(like AWS SES) and want to build the email management application in your own server and these two things should be done from our side:
- Access to a VPS Machine with Ubuntu 18.04 installed on it. You can get a VPS From Contabo Web Service or any provider, making sure the IPs can have a PTR recordset.
- Your details to setup email sender service for you.
- If you plan to build only one of the above two parts:
- Particular details according to what you wish to build.
- Domain name with access to DNS Management Zone.
